Radio Active Material and Your Pet
All transfer stations, incinerators and landfills are now testing each truck that crosses their scales for radio active material. When a truck sets off the alarm, it is then parked and contained until a certified scientist can come and remove the radio active waste. Until then and only then, the truck must sit. This could take days and hours to free the truck. As you can tell, this is very costly to us.
We have found that the most common forms of radio active material that is disposed of improperly is pet waste. When pets receive some treatments using Iodine, their excrements become radio active and need to be disposed of properly. Contact your vet for proper disposal information.
